Join us on October 20 and 21 for this exciting one-of-a-kind clinic in the covered main arena at the George Ingalls Equestrian Center in Norco CA. Our schedule is:

Saturday 9:30 am Ranch Riding

Welcome & Lecture

  • A Rider’s, Trainer’s, & Judge’s Prospective on Ranch Riding
  • What is correct and not correct?
  • AQHA Ranch Riding Pattern 1 — Walk the Pattern
  • Controlling the Horse with Straightness and Outline (frame)Perfects the Pattern

Break 30 minutes: Riders Saddle

  • Gaits & Transitions: Walk, Trot, Extent Trot, Lope, Extend Lope
  • Pivots

Lunch 12:30-1:30

2:00-4:00

Ride a Pattern or Segment of a Pattern One or Two Times

Summarize the Day: Q & A Western Dressage & How Ranch Riding are comparable events

Sunday 9:30 am Western Dressage

Welcome and Lecture

  • Fundamentals of Dressage Principles
  • Geometry of the Dressage Arena
  • Walk the Dressage Arena and Learn How to Ride with Accuracy

Break 30 minutes; Riders Saddle

Rider Evaluation and Helpful Tips:

  • Give Tips on what Riders do well and What they need to Learn
  • Position: What to Improve to become a more Functional Rider
  • Aids: Sequence to Improve in Transitions, Bending, Straight
  • Horses’ Balance: Straightness and Outline (frame) for Intro/Basic OR Levels 1/2 and higher

Lunch 12:30 to 1:30

2:00-4:00

  • 20 Meter Circle
  • Transitions at Letter
  • Gaits; Working Walk, Working Jog, Working Lope, Free Walk, Free Jog
  • Ride a Segment of a Test

Summarize the Day: What was most important for the two days, What really helped them for the two days

Emphasize what is correct riding and what is not, How Western Dressage and Ranch Riding are comparable

Clinic is approximately 6 hours per day. There will be breaks and non-mounted periods during the clinic as well. Times shown below are approximate. Detailed information will be published closer to clinic date.

Auditors are welcome. One-day ticket is $35 or two-day ticket is $70.

CANCELLATION POLICY: No refunds for audience tickets.

RETURNED CHECK/PAYMENT POLICY: If your check/payment does not clear our bank for any reason, we will charge a return check fee of $50.

The George Ingalls Equestrian Event Center, nestled below the base of Norco Hills located on Sixth Street and Crestview, is Norco's premier equestrian event center. One of the top amenities is the Moreno Arena that hosts many rodeos,team roping, penning, dressage, and large horseshows throughout the year, as well as local equestrian events. This facility has also served as a stop for the Monty Roberts Join Up Tour and Chris Ledoux concert. The 85,000 square foot covered arena has permanent seating for 2,100 and is equipped with holding pens and chutes to meet the needs of events such as the annual PRCA and CCRA rodeos, including the California Finals Rodeo.
